and I'm not getting enough sleep. I've had to stay awake till midnight last night and tonight & still wake up at 5:50 in the morning. Today I found I kept getting hungry. Thursday and Friday I have to eat out and I'm already dreading it. I better make a plan. I wish I was one of those girls who instinctively knows how to stay thin. You know like Nicole Kidman or Madonna. It just seems built into them not to eat. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be like that. I guess that is part of the problem.
See how I get when I'm sleep deprived? Maybe I'll have a chance to nap tomorrow at some point during the day.
Here is another photo from the secret garden. If you click on it you can see the lovely beauty of all its details. I love this plant. Does anyone know what it is?

Whoa. Stop and look at what you are writing about- there is nothing to worry about. Worry causes you to lose sleep. Just action to be taken. Did you ever think that maybe you need a nap? If you are able to take the time to take one do it. I do periodically and I feel so much better for it. It's the guilt of sleeping in the middle of the day that gets to me. I also only sleep for no more than one hour, sometimes only a 1/2 but it does what I need it to do. Are you drinking enough water? And most definitely make a plan for those nights you go out to eat. I find I am successful when I plan my eating and it is more enjoyable. Maybe it is all in how you are executing your diet and not the diet itself. I hope that makes sense.
Oh and I have no idea what that plant is- Mrs. Brown Thumbs, remember??
Love you,
L
Madonna and all those people in show business have other people worry about what they eat. Remember Oprah hired a chef to prepare her food? L is right on. PGma
thanks ladies.
I did nap today & I wasn't as hungry! Amazing how that works!
You wake up at 5:50? That's nothing, I roll out of bed at exactly 5:41 each day (okay, just joking with that...) I've found that after school, while watching the history channel, I usually nap for a half hour, which helps give me energy to get through the evening. I would suggest to eat apples since they started selling them and the red Deliciouses taste really good. From the person you sponsered for confimation.
thank you for the wonderful suggestions missy. I am so proud of you & your healthy habits! I was just thinking of you & your sister & how you both have such good eating habits & then I come here & find a comment from you...wait, this isn't Mr. J is it?
xo
My theory is that when you start losing weight, your body freaks out a little and you feel hunger. Your body is naturally resisting change and letting go of fat, because a fat reserve means a safety net.
That said, I think you ought to eat a little when you get hungry - a piece of fruit, something. Why? Because this is a moment of hunger and it will eventually catch up to you.
I dunno, that's just my very uneducated opinion. I'm sure there's a lot out there in terms of real fact. But I'd look at the bigger picture of - are you exercising? are you eating a balanced diet? are you feeling good mentally and physically? over a daily assessment of whether you're up 1/2 lb or not.
Because... (and here's more of my naive opinion) there will come a day when you're not feeling strong, you feel lousy, you want to comfort yourself and you're hungry. What then? You'll probably crumble a little and eat a lot, which is completely human.
To me it's better to take the moderate route, where the low days will see less low. But again, that's just me.
A friend of mine lost a LOT of weight within 6 months, something like 70 lbs. So it can be done. She went to the gym sometimes twice a day, since she was dealing with a terrible break up. (breakups are great for that).
Anyway, sorry to ramble. I hope you're feeling stronger and better. You should, because in my mind, you're doing great.
My suggestion for Thursday and Friday is to eat a snack a couple hours beforehand, like salad or fruit.
Kitty I really appreciate everything you just wrote(and I'm sure others do as well)thank you for the encouragement.
It makes a lot of sense to me. It also seems like if I don't keep these little issues in the forefront of my mind when they pop up that is when my amnesia kicks in. I sort of blank out & stop paying attention & start moving backwards.
So I'm very grateful for everyone responding to my concerns.
; )
I love your rose bush with rose hips on it. You could make tea!
Try not to stress about the diet, and have some lo cal snacks available to stave off that hunger! Celery sitcks with Laughing Cow cheese or a little natural peanut butter is good.
No guilt.
